Walid Phares' mother, Hind, passed away in Lebanon

Monday December 17, 2007, Walid Phares' mother, Hind, passed away in the family's home village in Lebanon. Dr Phares is in mourning. He wasn't able to attend the burial service and pay his last respects to his departing mother because of his commitment to freedom. A special tribute will be posted in the near future.

Monday December 17, 2007, Walid Phares' mother, Hind, passed away in the family's home village in Lebanon. Dr Phares is in mourning. He wasn't able to attend the burial service and pay his last respects to his departing mother because of his commitment to freedom. A special tribute will be posted in the near future.

Tuesday afternoon, Hind Basbous Phares was buried after a religious service in the family's home village. Condolences are received by the Phares family in Lebanon and by internet at Phares@walidphares.com

A source close to the family said Dr Phares was deprived from attending his father's service in 1990 because of the same circumstances. 17 years later, he had to suffer from the same deprivation: being away from his parents as they departed for eternity.
