In an interview with "al Qahira wal Nas" TV in Cairo, Dr Walid nPhares said: "International investment in Egypt is successful because of the 33 million Egyptians who rejected the Ikhwan. The international community wants to know if the people of Egypt is determined to support a democratic process, regardless of security challenges."

Phares, the author of "The Lost Spring" said "the main reason why Arab countries, the European Union, Asian, African and Latin American countries as well as many international companies, including from the United States, went to Sharm el Sheikh international economic conference, is that they understood that a majority of Egyptians are backing their constitutional process, their Government and President and armed forces and most importantly are resisting the attempts by the Jihadists and Islamists to take the country back to the medieval times. International investors know that the radicals are trying to sabotage the process, but what they are counting on is the vast popular support to the revolution, to the process moving forward."

Phares said Sharm el Sheikh shows that once a country's population moves in one direction, the international community follow, no matter what the terror forces try to obstruct. More importantly when economists, developers and Governments saw clearly what the youth of Egypt wanted to move forward and away from the backwardness of Jihadism, they moved to partner with Egypt, with the youth of Egypt, its real future"
