Phares to Voice of America: "A new Egypt is emerging, pushing back against the Jihadists, pushing for democracy and pluralism, gradually"

In an interview with Voice of America, author of "The Lost Spring" Walid Phares, said "a new Egypt is emerging, a country that rose against the Muslim Brotherhood, which will be pushing back against the Jihadists, pushing for democracy and pluralism, gradually." Phares joined Douglas Mpuga aanchor of VOA's show "Reporters Around the table," and Suleiman Mugula a leading expert in South Africa. The panel debated Egypt's Presidential election. Suleiman agreed that the new Egypt will play an increasing regional and African role. Phares said "the battle against the Jihadists in Egypt will give hope to many African states now fighting the same terror. The product of removing the Ikhwan in Egypt will bring freedom and long term stability to the continent now confronting the fundamentalists in many countries."
