Obama challenges: Economic recovery and resisting Jihadi terror? Will it happen?

Today, Barack Obama becomes the new President of the United States. His election and his inauguration, in the eyes of America's popular majority, is above all a closing of the troubling chapter of race relations in the United States, beginning with the civil war, ending Slavery, and the civil rights movement. To sixty million voters, ending the race issue was a priority in national affairs. Thus as of January 21, the United States is expected to face off with two of its top priorities: economic recovery and defeating the Terror Jihadi forces. The hope of most Americans, those who voted for Obama and those who did not, is to see the new President mobilizing his Administration to meet the two hurdling challenges. If signs of economic recovery will take some time to appear, signals of what the Obama strategies against the terror forces will come fast. Hence, if January 20, 2009 is a final closing to the race issue in America, we will to have to wait and see if this day will be a benchmark for a renewed campaign to defend the country and the free world against the Jihadi offensives or the beginning of a different era.
