Phares said "despite the power of the Brotherhood and Qatar lobby in Washington, US Foreign Policy will have to recognize the will of the Egyptian people's overwhelming majority, as it was expressed in a petition of 22 million, demonstrations of 33 million citizens, a referendum of 22 million and a Presidential election of the same numbers."

Phares said "eventually the United States will be normalizing its relations with Egypt, while pressing the latter's elected institutions to protect democracy, pluralism and human rights."
