Walid Phares to Iraq Hurr: "Romney put Iran in the center stage of his criticism of Obama's foreign policy for a rational reason. "Iran's regime is meddling in Iraq, supporting Hezbollah and backing Syria's Assad, The latter is committing massacres in Syria. This policy has failed and an alternative one is needed. Besides, President Obama will claim the killing of Bin Laden, but al Qaeda is expanding. Hence there is a failure in the war on terror."

Obama

Baghdad, Prague

In a report published and aired by Iraq Hur (Free Iraq Radio Broadcast), based in Prague, correspondent Karam Menessa wrote that Presidential candidate Governor Mitt Romney got a boost from the Tampa Republican Convention last week and his image and agenda have been well described by prominent speakers such as Ann Romney, Vice President candidate Rep Paul Ryan, Senator Marco Rubio and others. Menessa said perhaps one of the most marking speeches for the public was the one delivered by the universally known actor Clint Eastwood whose criticism of Obama was noted by most Americans.

Professor Walid Phares, a congressional advisor told Iraq Hur that the Convention gave the Governor a significant push, while we know that the Democratic Convention in Charlotte will give Barack Obama a push as well. Phares said both parties will obtain pushes, then would race towards collecting the votes from the center and independents. "Romney has scored points after he criticized President Obama on the economy and Foreign Policy, particularly regarding the Middle East and Terrorism."

Phares added "that Romney put Iran in the center stage of his criticism of Obama's foreign policy for a rational reason.

Asked about the difference between Obama and Romney in the Middle East, Phares said "Obama wants to end the wars by withdrawals, Romney wants to win these wars by working with real partners. The difference is significant."
